Adventure to City for the Children
The children enjoyed a fun day in Bangalore recently as part of a Christmas treat. This was the first time all of the children from the orphanage had visited Bangalore and the first time many of them had left the remote area of Kachuvadi.
The children were so excited and packed a lot into their day. Getting up really early on Friday, the 4th of January, the 84 children and staff all boarded a huge bus to transport them to the city, a three hour journey from the orphanage.
The adventures began in Bangalore National Park. They started by enjoying a much needed breakfast and then had some play time in the park with the swings, slides, climbing frames, see-saws and more. Many of the children had never experienced this before.
A visit to the zoo, museum, and high court were all included in the trip, as well as ice-cream, a ride on a train and a late lunch at Pastor Johnson's house in Yelchanahalli, on the outskirts of the city.
The children all had a wonderful time and took home lots of lasting memories of their day out in the city which will stay with them for years to come.
Welcome From Paul and Sarah
What is going on in my life at the moment? Where are you, God? Where is the answer? These are questions that we all ask, these are questions that those in India must ask. God says, "I am here, the battle belongs to me, when you do my will, opposition will come, but I am with you."
Battle through prayer is what God wants us to do, as those in India so diligently do. God will give us the answers we long for in our lives when we get serious about prayer and get down on our knees before God and believe Him, trust Him, and leave things at His feet. We are fighting a spiritual battle and we have to be clothed correctly with a full armour of God.
God has always provided for the children at the orphanage, staff, pastors, and teachers and their trust is fully in God. They must worry sometimes, as we all do, this is natural, but God knows what we have need of before we even ask. Let's not limit God but get serious with Him. Please pray with us for all the needs in this newsletter and believe in receiving the answers to our prayer.
Be encouraged, "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
- I John 4:4.
The transforming power of God at work in India
Paul and Sarha share further thoughts from their trip to India in November, 2007.
Lives are being transformed, lives are being renewed, people are turning to God, people are being saved. Where there was pain, there is health, where there was suffering, there is joy. God is working in so many people's lives in India and is working through the faithful servants who have committed themselves to the work of the WWPSP Mission.
Many of those doing the Lord's work in India are living by faith and we came to understand this fully when one pastor with a wife and two young children explained that he doesn't often receive money but receives gifts of food and clothing and other practical things he needs. He is totally dependant on God and He has never let that family down.
Those who are working in and around Bangalore, mainly in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, are seeing healings, salvation, baptisms, deliverance, and miracles in the lives of the people they meet. Most of the areas they are serving in are very poor areas. People have real needs and are turning to God for the answers. Doctors, Dentists, opticians, and medicines are not in abundance and health care comes at a cost. They have to trust God to be their great physician. When there is no other way, God is the only way. We were certainly challenged in our faith, especially by the children who are so faithful to God. One thing we didn't see in India was moaning. They really do say "Praise God" even when the going gets tough.

News in Brief
PONDICHERRY Church celebrated their 4th anniversary on the 24th of February with a special service and a meal. One lady took baptism at this special service and all enjoyed a special time of fellowship.
This church has gone form strength to strength and seen much growth in the time that Pastor Christober has been there. Despite opposition and being in a dominant Hindu area, the church of around 125 believers have already outgrown their building and started three church plants in rural tribal areas.
Pastor Christober is still living on limited accommodations and needs the house on the back of the church to be completed which will cost around £300. If you can help, please contact us.
CONSTRUCTION work for the additional toilets at the orphanage is well underway and will soon be completed. After the rainy season passed work was able to begin at the end of January. These additional toilets will provide extra sanitation for the orphanage, which is so important to the well-being of the children.
FINANCE to build the prayer tower is still needed. Currently the Yelchanahalli church, which is also Pastor Johnson's house, has a leaking roof. Repairs are unable to proceed because the foundations of the whole building are not sound. The building needs to be knocked down and the new prayer tower built in it's place. The prayer tower will include 4 floors; living accommodations for Pastor Johnson, the church, and office, and a prayer room at the top where 24/7 prayer will take place. A Hindu temple is being built just a stone's throw from the main Yelchanahalli church, which will become more prominent then the current church building. £25,000 would have been sufficient for this project, but the cost of the land and rebuilding is gradually getting higher, so the figure is not £30,000+. If anyone can help to get this project started or would like more information, please contact us.
